By Road: The most common route from all major cities is to take or join the M5 southbound to Exeter. At Exeter, the M5 becomes the A38 dual carriageway which travels through Devon towards Plymouth, a journey of about 45 miles. Keep on the A38 past Plymouth and carry on over the Tamar Bridge into Cornwall. Continue on the A38 for about 8 miles until you reach the roundabout at Trerulefoot. Turn left on to the A374 at this roundabout, signposted Torpoint and Looe. After 1.3 miles, turn right on to the A387, clearly signposted Looe. On reaching
Looe, there are various car parks in the town centre.
We recommend that you use the map

By Train: The nearest mainline station to
Looe is Liskeard, approximately 10 miles away. Liskeard is on the main Penzance line with excellent services from London, the Midlands and the North run by major train operators such as Virgin and First Great Western. It is only approximately 3 ½ hours from London to Liskeard on the direct service from First Great Western. A number of train operators provide services on the Plymouth to Liskeard line and a typical journey takes ½ hour.
On arriving at Liskeard, there are essentially two main options for the journey on to
Looe. For simplicity and convenience, our recommendation is for you to take a taxi which will only take around
15 minutes at an approximate cost of £12.00. There is a train service to Looe from the mainline station in Liskeard which takes just under ½ hour.

Parking: Many visitors reach Looe by car although there are many options for travel to Looe by public transport including the train. In common with many Cornish fishing villages, the narrow streets mean that access into the town by car is difficult and parking extremely difficult, particularly in the main holiday season.
There is however plenty of car parking within easy walking distance of the town. The main local car parks are :-
The Millpool Car Park is a very large car park just across the Looe bridge on the Polperro side of the town. It is about 5 to 10 mins walk from the town centre.
The Quayside Car Park is a smaller car park just by the bridge on the East Looe side. This car park is frequently full and given the short walk, it is probably best to go to the Millpool Car Park, particularly in the height of the season.
